Jesus and Prayer

We are continuing our series on Jesus leading into Easter.

So far we have looked at:
Jesus and His Humanity
Jesus – Fully God Fully Man
Jesus and His Character

and in this post we are looking at Jesus and Prayer.

Jesus prayed:
- early (Mk 1:35)
- late (Lk 6:12)
- often (Lk 5:16)

Jesus prayed alone (Mt 14:23) and he prayed with others (Mt 19:13).

So why did Jesus pray:
- to be filled with God’s power (Lk3:21-22)
- to know the will of God (Jn 5:19)
- for spiritual warfare (Mt 4:1-11)
- to give glory to God (Jn 17:1)
- because he loved God and loved other people (Jn 17:20)

So what can we learn from Jesus and prayer?

Find a prayer time and prayer place.

Pray often.

Use scripture when you are praying.

A day without prayer is a day without power.
